Falls from height are the biggest single cause of deaths and serious injuries in the workplace.

Here in the UK, work at height is classed as work in any place, be it at height or ground level, where injury could occur as a result of a fall.

The performance of any edge protection system is governed not only by the quality of the system, but also the competency of the people tasked with installing it. Ensuring operatives are suitably trained in how to correctly select, install and inspect edge protection solutions is paramount to the overall safety of everyone working at height.

To ensure users are aware of the need to minimise risks and to understand the regulations associated with the use of edge protection, we have developed a one-day edge protection training course which focuses on the key elements of correct selection, installation and inspection of edge protection for Concrete, Steel and Structural Timber Buildings. The course is held at a state of the art demonstration and training facility and will cover the following:

Course Content

  • Solutions available to the industry
  • Overview of legislation
  • The need for Fall Arrest Equipment
  • Practical session
  • Hazard identification
  • The Standard BS EN 13374 2013
  • Multiple choice test

5 Year Certifcation

The course will include a multiple choice test paper which has been developed in line with the standard for edge protection: BS EN 13374 2013.

On suitable completion of the test, delegates will be issued with the Edge Protection Federation Training Card & Certificate which is valid for five years.
