The UK’s one-stop shop for non-mechanical construction equipment has made another significant move in the name of growth and expansion; one of its busiest and most established depots, West Thurrock, has relocated to a 2.5 acre site (more than twice the size of the Thurrock depot) in Basildon. This latest development comes just weeks after opening its biggest ever depot in Bordon, also a 2.5 acre site. Bordon and Basildon are now equally the Company’s largest depots.
“This is another exciting time for Beaver 84 as we now have almost 3 extra acres of space across both Basildon and Bordon which will serve us well in our efforts to expand over the coming years. As with Bordon, we will use the additional space at our purpose built Basildon depot to vastly increase our stock so that we’re able to offer our full range of products and ultimately reach more customers in the southern region.” Says Steve Tysoe, managing director.
“In addition, to cope with the massive demand in Beaver 84’s market-leading Edge Protection Solutions for concrete, steel and structural timber framed buildings, the Basildon depot will become the southern region’s Edge Protection Solutions hub, with all of Beaver’s Edge Protection stock being controlled by a dedicated team based across two depots, Basildon in the south and Widnes in the north.” Added Steve Tysoe, managing director.
Beaver 84’s West Thurrock depot originally opened in 1987 and still boasts two original members of staff; branch manager, Gary Westbrook, who joined the company as a part-time yard operative when he was 14 and the Company’s longest serving member of staff, Stephen Mullins who recently received the Company’s Long Service Award having worked in the yard at the depot for 30 years.
“I’m thrilled that West Thurrock/Basildon depot has this fantastic opportunity to expand, having been with the Company for so many years, it’s great to be involved in such a positive move. The depot’s recent success can partly be attributed to our investment in Edge Protection Solutions as well as our reputation for excellent customer service so I’m delighted to say that all our staff have made the move to Basildon too. We look forward to working with all our customers, new and old, from the new depot in Basildon.” Says Gary Westbrook, branch manager.
The Basildon depot officially opened on 13 March and is currently recruiting for additional yard operatives. The Bordon depot officially opened at the end of February/beginning of March and is currently recruiting for Sales Support staff.
